Aliu graduated with a degree in Finance and Banking and was exposed to Roma issues through the Institute of Romani Culture in Albania and the Roma Education Fund, which inspired her to join RGPP.

“CEU’s RGPP program have helped me to strengthen my Roma identity as I took tutoring in Math’s and Economic Sociology to become a professional Roma woman, to be capable of working in Public Administration at the Finance Ministry. One of my biggest pleasures is to spend time with children and help them grow up in a better way. There also come my future goal “of there not being anymore Roma children begging in the streets and to find them support needed for going to kindergarten and elementary school”. Roma children deserve get an education, and not to be discriminated against: they must become equal with the other majority children. It is my belief that e better generation in the Roma community will come from more educated students. My ultimate aim is to use my knowledge of finance and administration to provide aid and give more direct support to the Roma community.”
