Alba Hernández Sánchez

While obtaining a degree in Social Work at the Complutense University of Madrid in 2018, Alba started to hone her knowledge among minority groups with different profiles, including women, the homeless, elderly and members of the Roma community who sought care at the Emergency Services of the Madrid City Council. During her engagement, she developed her academic and professional knowledge and began to build her profile in activism through collaboration with Roma feminist NGOs.

It was not until 2019 that Alba decided her academic and professional specialty when she devoted her passion to specializing in Gender Studies. From this point on, from 2019-2020, she began to broaden her awareness of Gender and Law at the University of Salamanca, where she strengthened her critical thinking regarding gender-related issues.

This year she is completing her research for her Master’s thesis in Gender Studies whose title is ‘'An analysis of welfare rights for female victims of gender violence recognized in Spanish jurisprudence’' andin turn, continues to deepen her Knowledge in Gender Studies while attending RGPP at CEU University, Budapest.

Although she has some familiarity with Gender Studies, she is determined to continue her academic development and her skills at different levels within Gender Studies by examining gender from the perspective of  Sociology,  Political Science,  NGOs  and  Social Services  while  continuing to develop her critical thinking skills.
