Adnan completed his Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature and obtained another degree in project management. Following this, he developed and implemented 37 of his own projects for Roma and other vulnerable groups and was appointed President of the Roma NGO “Veseli brijeg” in Banja Luka (2010-2014). He is a Romani activist, local and global peacebuilder, project manager, educator and youth worker.

“After surviving the horrors of the Yugoslav war, I directly felt all sorts of discrimination and segregation aimed against me, while still being a child. Education was one of my greatest priorities in life since the early childhood; peacebuilding and youth work came later, as my experience grew. Thanks to the CEU and the RGPP program, I was given an opportunity to extend my academic knowledge, and to learn how to speak and write in Romani language as well. I was elected as the RGPP student representative at the CEU, which was a great honor and a personal accomplishment of mine.  My future plan is to apply for the master studies in the next year, and to pursue my PhD studies later. It is my intention to pursue the future career perspectives in political science, international relations or human rights, with the special interest in diplomacy and project management. Education and employment are essential for one’s future progress: this is why I still believe that the small people can change the world for the better, only if they are given a chance.”
