Crimes perpetrated for racist reasons are among those that threaten not only individuals but also communities. Such were the Roma killings in Hungary, which claimed the lives of six people, including a child.
As part of our project "Unzivilgesellschaft", the young filmmaker Máté Fuchs reconstructed the events through the eyes of journalists and sociologists, recalling this unprocessed part of Hungary‘s recent past.
The 70-minutes-long film is screened in Hungarian with English subtitles. The screening is followed with a discussion in Hungarian with English interpretation. Invited speakers: Máté Fuchs (director of the film), Aladár Horváth (Roma Parlament), Ilona Boros (TASZ), and Anna Kende (ELTE).
The event is in partnership with Freeszfe and the Romani Studies Program
