Roma English Language Program

Roma English Language Program

The Roma English Language Program was a one of a kind multi-year program.

Alongside the Roma Graduate Preparation Program (RGPP), the Roma English Language Program (RELP) was one of two study options offered until 2016 by the Roma Access Programs (RAP) at the Central European University (CEU), in Budapest. RELP provided an intensive 9-month English language course for young Roma from over 20 countries who are qualified to a graduate level. Specifically, it targeted those students with either a beginner or elementary level of English who can demonstrate they need language skills for further education and/or career development and are committed towards Roma empowerment.

Since the program was launched in 2011, a total of 69 students have graduated from RELP. These students became equipped with the much-needed English language skills for their future career, internship or study possibilities.
