With a BA focused on Roma communities and an MA in social work from her native Slovakia, Edita is an alumna of the Roma English Language Program (2011-2012) and the Roma Graduate Preparation Program (2012/13).

In 2014 she was a grantee of SRT doing an internship at the Salish Kootenai College, in Montana, USA. There she did research on Native Americans, their history and the work to integrate the indigenous language into the school curricula. This helped Edita make a comparison with the situation of Roma, noticing "the big difference between the social work in the Indian reservation and social work carried out in Roma communities in Slovakia that run usually throughout the projects".

Edita went for a further MA in Public Administration at the University in Lausanne, Switzerland. This year she has been awarded a fellowship by the Lantos-Humanity in Action Congressional Fellowship at Humanity in Action, an international educational organization located in Washington DC.
