RGPP Alumna’s New Journey in Journalism

October 25, 2025

We love hearing from our alumni! Whether it is about new adventures, professional successes, personal celebrations, challenges or even times of quiet in between. Every update helps us stay connected and support one another as a community. This month, we are happy to share news from Ildiko Ignacz, who graduated from RGPP in June and continues to pursue her passion in journalism as a Pelikan Project trainee.

This is what Ildi shared with us:

I’ve started the Pelikan Project, which is a journalism training program where I can learn the ins and outs of the profession from independent journalists. For 10 weeks, journalists and editors from the biggest news outlets come to teach us during the course. At the end of the program, we also receive a certificate.

After we finish the project, we’re invited back for development workshops and specialization sessions. If we do well, some of us might even get internship opportunities.

The organizers of the project are very kind and professional. They created the program with the goal of refreshing the circulation of Hungarian journalism, as they noticed how difficult it has become to get into major news outlets. They also believe that bringing in a new generation with fresh perspectives is essential for reflecting current viewpoints.

We congratulate to Ildi on her new journey!
