Advanced Certificate Program Open House

Earlier in September, the Advanced Certificate Program in Romani Studies hosted an open house. This informal event provided an opportunity to new, already enrolled students, and RGPP students to mingle and get a feel for our RSP community. The event included a welcome from Angéla Kóczé and introduction of AC Faculty and an informal conversation about experiences.

19th RGPP Cohort on CEU’s Vienna Campus

Student Stories with the Advanced Certificate in Romani Studies - Lisia Pamfilie

In the last academic year, our unit launched the Advanced Certificate Program in Romani Studies. Mihaela Lisia Pamfilie was among the three MA students who graduated in June and earned their Advanced Certificate in Romani Studies. Lisia was an MA student at the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology, where she was planning on writing her MA thesis about a Roma community in Romania.

Exploring Marginalized History, Societal Structures, and Power Dynamics in Europe

In the last academic year Celine Cojocar from France, through the OSUN opportunity, took two general RSP courses that are also mandatory elective courses of the Advanced Certificate in Romani Studies Program. Currently Celine is pursuing her MA degree at Sciences Po Paris in European Affairs with a focus on Social Policy and Innovation.

Pre-RGPP 2022– Student Experiences

In the summer of 2022, RSP offered again its online pre-RGPP course. The 7-week-long summer course is designed for Roma individuals who are seeking a short-term but intensive academic opportunity to improve their academic English and get a sense of RGPP and the subject area of their interest. Individuals who still pursued their BA/MA degree and professionals who already had their degrees were welcome to apply. This year we had 20 students from 9 countries.
