Anna Klimova, RSP Visiting Research Associate (June - August 2025)

Anna Klimova is a Master's student in International Peace Studies at the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame. Her research focuses on the intersection of education, narratives, and peacebuilding. Anna's current work analyzes how civil society organizations in Budapest use educational programming to challenge the systematic exclusion of Roma lived experiences from Hungary's official historical narrative. Her research explores how education can both reflect and confront the exclusion of entire communities from public life.

Supported by the Nanovic Institute for European Studies, Anna is visiting CEU's Romani Studies Program to collaborate with leading experts in the field and strengthen her understanding of counter-memory pedagogy. Her planned activities include archival research and engagement with program faculty to connect her fieldwork to broader theoretical frameworks. Additionally, given her experience in leading educational initiatives across Europe and the USA, Anna also contributes to CEU's Roma Graduate Preparation Program by facilitating conversational English classes for incoming participants.
