Based on the Roma Inclusion Index 2015, published at the end of the Decade of the Roma Inclusion 2005-2015, the main issues discussed with the students:
- How Roma inclusion should be measured? Which indicators/measurements should be used?
- Is data systematically collected and how it should be done?
- How reliable they think are the data contained in the Roma Inclusion Index 2015 and how this can be improved?
- What the data contained in the Roma Inclusion Index 2015 tell us? What are the conclusions we can draw from these data?
- If the Roma Inclusion Index 2015 covers their country of origin, can they comment on the data and the conclusion. Do we know why the situation is such as presented through these data?
- How these data can be used to formulate effective policies to overcome exclusion?
Ms Aleksandra Bojadjieva serves as policy and research officer at the Decade of Roma Inclusion Secretariat Foundation since February 2012. She has substantial experience in the field of minority rights, particularly Roma, starting from being activist at grassroots organizations in Macedonia to being independent expert on minority rights at the Council of Europe. Besides evidence based advocacy and research as her main activities, she has also been involved in a number of development, capacity building, public policy making, publishing and fundraising projects. Her portfolio at the Secretariat encompasses the Decade Intelligence, Decade Future, Roma Inclusion Index and Decade Focal Points programs, as well as policy and research support to the Decade and its partners.
