Destressing & Community Building

November 27, 2024

The first term was full of new experiences for RGPPs. New city and country, new requirements, deadlines, and lots of thinking about their future plans.

Each month, we organize several social activities and encourage the group to get together on their own and find time to destress and continue building their friendships.

During our Vienna trip, we had the opportunity to visit the Haus der Geschichte Österreich a museum dedicated to Austrian history. A special feature of the museum is that it also presents events affecting minorities living in Austria, thus expressing the importance of inclusion. In addition, we had the privilege of being guided through the history of Austria's Roma minority by the chief curator of the museum, Stefan Benedik.

In addition to academic English and tutorial classes, each RGPP term includes specialized courses. During the fall term, The History of the World (HOW), taught by Professor Jeremy Adelman from Cambridge University, is one of these classes. This course is not only interactive but an extremely international one. Students from 22 universities collaborate through online platforms. Activities include presenting case studies, engaging in narrative mapping, and exchanging feedback on peers' work.

Welcome RGPPs!

October 11, 2024

RGPP participants have had an eventful first month! Since their arrival in early September, they have completed their orientation week, were offered a menu of classes, chose their tutorial areas, and become familiar with the expectations of the program and life in Budapest. Some are also getting used to being back in classrooms. In addition to their academic activities, they have enjoyed fun social events.
